Blue has served the reprographic needs of Decatur, Illinois and its neighboring communities for over fifty years. Founded as Decatur Blueprint in 1960, our core values of excellent customer service, quality craftsmanship, and pride in our work still hold true today.

Charles Edward “Red” Mardis
June 8, 1948 – August 21, 2016

Red was born June 8, 1948 in Keiser, AR, the son of Henry and Ellen (Hayes) Mardis. He married Elizabeth Matilda Abell on January 28, 1984 in Decatur, IL. She preceded him in death in 2014.

Red worked most recently as a courier here at Blue, and formerly for the City of Decatur. He was a “Jack of all Trades”, enjoyed working with wood, and visiting rummage sales. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Rest in peace, Red. You are missed.
